Key Benefits
To begin medication management, you need to first complete a psychiatric diagnostic assessment with a prescriber. This assessment helps to determine which medication(s), if any, are best to help you with your specific symptoms and condition. We ask that you keep an open mind, as there may be treatments for your condition(s) that you are not aware of. Some treatments may or may not be medication-based. As an example, TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) is used to treat Major depressive disorder as well as Obsessive-compulsive disorder and is an effective, non-medication strategy.
Before beginning medication treatment, we ask that you identify your goal(s) such as: 1) I want to improve my mood, 2) I want to decrease my anxiety symptoms; 3 ) I want to improve my sleep and/or 4) I want to return to my regular day-to-day functioning.
We begin with a detailed evaluation of your medical history, current symptoms, and wellness goals, then develop a customized integrative medicine plan based on your unique needs.
We offer guidance on dietary choices to improve overall health and well-being, teach mindfulness and meditation techniques to reduce stress and enhance mental clarity, and recommend herbal and natural supplements to support your health and wellness.
We schedule regular appointments to monitor your progress and make necessary adjustments, encouraging open communication to address any concerns or changes in your condition promptly.
We coordinate with your primary care physician, therapists, and other healthcare providers to ensure a holistic approach to your well-being, providing a safe and supportive environment where you feel comfortable discussing your treatment.
It is vital that you let your providers know your medical history, substance use history, and all other medications you may be taking, as well as vitamins and supplements. This helps to prevent medications/supplements from negatively interacting with each other. To avoid medical complications, always be open and honest about any non-prescription or prescription drugs you are using. We are here to offer a welcoming environment where it is safe to disclose things that are difficult to talk about. We are not here to judge.
