Teresa Duncan, FNP-BC, CNP

Terri was born and raised in a very small town in Arkansas (population 386),

her grandmother joked that she was related to at least 250 of them!

Terri began her career in healthcare following her tour of duty in the US Navy.

She first worked as a phlebotomist, then she went to school for training as a respiratory therapist. She worked as a respiratory therapist for approximately 5 years before Terri went back to school and received her

Bachelors of Science in Nursing Degree from Queens College in Charlotte, NC.

Terri worked as a Registered Nurse, primarily in ICU for 11 years. During that time,

she and her family moved from Arkansas to Asheville, NC so she could continue her education and obtain her Master's Degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

Terri worked for several years in hospice and Palliative Care as a Nurse Practitioner - striving to improve the quality of life for people struggling with life ending illnesses.

After several years of working in Hospice and Palliative Care, she was offered a job working for the St. Cloud VAMC as a Nurse Practitioner in their mental health and substance abuse treatment program in Minneosta; after some discussion, it was decided that as a family they were going to move to Minnesota.

Terri loved her job at the VA, however, she often felt as if she couldn't provide the type of help that many of the veterans needed in addition to being clean from drugs and alcohol. They needed treatment for their mental health, thus Terri made the decision to return to college for a Post-Master's Certification as a

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

Terri has a passion for working with clients that are struggling with substance abuse and untreated mental health problems. She loves working with patients to help with having real options in coping with their mental health problems; such as, anxiety, depression, and thoughts of suicide, to name a few.

Terri states that she was blessed to train with Dr. Good, and was offered a position after her graduation in December of 2021. Terri is very excited to be working with Dr. Good and looks forward to helping others on their journey to recovery.
